Clinical Efficacy of Diethylamine Chromone Carboxylate (Fludarene^(¢ç)) in Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy





Abstract
This study was performed¢¥ for evaluation of therapeutic efficacy of diethylamine chromone carboxylate (Fludarene¨Ï).in patients with diabetic nephropathy. In 20 patients of noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus with moderate proteinuria. Fludarene was prescribed for 3 months. After 2 months of treatment, the amount of proteinuria was decreased to 52.4% and 39.2% at 3 months. In analyses of proteinura reduction degree, 25% of patients were partial remission and 15% were complete remission at 2 months of treatment. After 3 months of treatment, 25% of patients were partial remission and 55% were complete remission. During the course of treatment only a few side effect such as epigastric discomfort was noted. These observation suggested that Fludarene may be effective and safe drug in the treatment of diabetic
nephropathy.
